Oishida-machi Municipal History and Folkore Museum
The Oishida riverbank prospered as an interchange for the transportation of goods such as safflowers, but it was also a point for cultural exchange. Since the Edo Period, many writers and artists have been visiting and leaving their mark on the area. The museum displays various materials related to the town’s history, arts, and culture.

Recommended points/experiences
Special exhibitions held four to five times a year display the works of artists with a deep connection to Oishida such as Western-style painter Kanayama Heizo, Japanese-style artist Komatsu Hitoshi, and poet Saito Mokichi.
